Service Description

The first step in any EV Charger installation is to commission a Pre-installation Survey. This survey will determine if your existing electrical supply & system is suitable and can safely handle the sustained high load of an EV Charger. During the survey I will inspect your main incoming supply (Electricity Meter & Main Service Head) and your main fuse box (Consumer Unit) as well as verify the main bonding (Green & Yellow Cable) on your various incoming services as applicable (Gas, Water, Oil etc) and assess the total amount of power currently being used at your property. I will also discuss what type of EV Charger you require, where you would like it located and what's involved in the installation. If all is good, I will provide you with a fixed price quotation for the work. The total cost of installing an EV Charger can vary with many factors, but as a rough indication and help you budget, provided no modification or upgrades are required to your existing electrical system, typical costs are: EV Charging Unit - £500 - £800 Installation - £400 - £600 Extended Cable Runs: +£15 per meter (for runs over 5m from your main supply) All EV Charger installations require the approval of the Distribution Network Operator (DNO). In Llanelli & Swansea areas, this is National Grid Electricity Distribution (formerly known as Western Power). If you choose to proceed with my quotation, I will seek this approval on your behalf once you have decided on a specific make & model of charger and its final location.
